How Attitude Thoughts On Internet Entrepreneur Success Principles Can Supercharge Your Business!

attitude thoughts on Internet Entrepreneur
Everyone wants to be the next Bill Gates, Steven Spielberg or Walt Disney.  However… what are you willing to do to get there?  If you believe that the successful just happen to fall into these lofty positions, you need to read their stories.

Success is rarely easy. Let’s face it, very few of us will be born a Rockefeller and inherit the world.

I could tell you that you are probably better off not being born rich, but I don’t want to shove my personal dogma down your throat.

In my humble opinion, you’re better off attaining wealth on your own over time, but I’ll stop there.

Once you start checking into the back-stories of some of these impressive people, you’ll probably be glad that you’re not in their shoes, especially when you consider the responsibilities they have.

When these folks make a decision, their butts aren't the only ones on the line, but everyone else’s as well.

In the case of Spielberg, whenever he makes a movie he’s responsible for thousands of people and their reputations.  If a movie that he’s making turns out to be an unmitigated disaster, then everyone that’s working with him gets tarnished too.

And the results aren't the only thing he has to worry about. He’s responsible for the safety of his crew, the logistics of when and where his filming is going to take place, dealing with unions, budgets etc.  I don’t know about you, but I’d be folding, fast.

Not to mention that the road to this lofty position isn’t exactly fun either.

The Mouse That Almost Wasn't

Take Walt Disney for example.

(Now, who wouldn't want to be the next Walt Disney?)  If you skip over the fact he dropped out of high school to go and fight in WWI you’ll see that he worked for years as an advertising artist, making slim wages.

(Actually, he wasn't even successful in getting in the army because they found out he was underage.)

After that, he went into business with a friend making short cartoons for movie theaters.  That company went bankrupt because the profits weren't even coming close to covering the expenses of the business.

After that, Disney produced an animated series called Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.  However, the main stake holder in that business tried to reduce Walt’s compensation on those cartoons, so he protested.  Eventually, Walt was on the street again, looking for another gig.

After those fiascoes, Disney created a series based on his character Mickey and the rest is history.  But the point needs to be stated that this was not an overnight success story.  It took him years of blood, sweat and tears to get to his first successes…And even then it wasn't easy to maintain!

The Life of an Entrepreneur Isn't Easy

responsible
So, I guess it goes without saying that if you’re going to take on the responsibility of becoming an entrepreneur, you’re going to have more responsibilities than you have now.

But hey, that’s what you want to do if you want to be more successful than everyone else, take on more responsibilities!

In the past, someone pointed out to me that if you want to be more successful in life, you've got to step it up.  A homeless bum might have a free and easy lifestyle, unencumbered by responsibilities.
However, he also has no home, family or life worth living either.

That’s kind of the safe way to live, isn't it?  When you don’t step up and take responsibility for your life, it’s almost a comfortable, safe cocoon you can live in.

“Just let me lie around, sleep, and eat… I’ll be content, like a good dog.”

What a waste of life!

make lots of money
How Can You Make Lots of Money on The Internet?

If you frequent any of the Internet marketing forums where wannabe “netrepreneurs” frequent, you’ll see this question asked almost daily,

“How Can I Make Lots of Money on The Internet?”

As a matter of fact, you’ll also see the responses of seasoned entrepreneurs that frequent those forums lament that they are sick to death of those types of questions.

Usually, people that want to start Internet based businesses, or any other type for that matter, are looking for a simple strategy they can follow to make piles of cash.  Part of the reason why these people think this way, is because they've been conned by marketing hype they've seen online.

Everywhere you look on the Internet there are pages and pages of successful entrepreneurs that make the bulk of their money “selling the dream.”  I’m not saying that there aren't any good Internet marketing products out there, because there are.  As a matter of fact, there are some stellar products that you can buy that will help you learn the business.

However, when you read much of the advertising copy that accompanies the desire to buy, the sellers won’t tell you everything they went through to make it.  Some of these people were on their last dime, some of them were single and didn't have many of the responsibilities that many of us experience, and most of them failed at their endeavors many times before making it.

So, the illusion of Internet marketing success is you can do something fun, hang out online and use social media sites to make a wad of money.

The Salesman Experience = Good Internet Entrepreneurs

What I've found in almost every case, is that most of the people that make it big were already salesmen and businessmen of sorts BEFORE they became online entrepreneurs.  That’s why so many of them take to writing advertising copy like a duck to water.  They've already been memorizing sales scripts for years before beginning to write copy.

To a certain extent, many of these online successes already had selling and writing sales copy in their blood, so whenever they hit a wall or an obstacle in their businesses, it was just another day…another experience to learn from…another way to grow.

The average wide-eyed optimist online doesn't have that kind of experience and therefore, when they don’t get have a successful experience right out of the starting gate, they have a tendency to give up pretty quickly.

Attitude Thoughts: How You Can Turn This Around and Start Succeeding

While I can’t speak for every type of business model that I know is out there, I will tell you that there are quite a few things that you can do to help yourself move in the direction of success with your business.

1.        You’ve got to get serious.  Almost every day, I get up at 6:00.  This includes weekends and holidays.  If I have everything set up from the night before, I can get a solid two hours of writing in before anyone else gets up to bug me.  Why do I do this?   Because I’m freakin’ dedicated. When I had an online embroidery business, I worked from 6:00 AM to sometimes 3:00 AM the next morning.  If you are going to be successful and show others around you that you mean business for real, then you’ve got to get up and kick butt.  Make plans and schedules and stick to them like glue.  Your friends and family will be amazed!

2.        Become an authority in your field.  If you want to really be taken seriously, then become an authority.  There are many ways to do this.  For one thing, you could write about your area of expertise quite extensively.  You can get articles published in trade magazines, journals, or even write a book.

A book is actually the best way to gain authority quickly because it has a “Thump Factor”.  If you hand a client or customer a solid copy of a book you’ve written, it immediately establishes you as an authority. An online eBook can have a similar effect, especially if you sell a Kindle version of it on Amazon.   If people like your eBook and make a ton of comments on it, chances are they’ll look to you as the “go to guy” for your respective niche.

success principles

3.       Use a planner regularly.   Get a planner and use it for real.  Don’t just buy one and let it sit there.  Buy one and use it every single day.  Plan everything you can think of and set your goals.  Put a start and ending date for projects and ideas to begin and end.  This way, when you complete each goal, you can check them off one at a time and you won’t get discouraged by a lack of completion or a lack of direction.  Don’t forget that small goals eventually equal big goals.  As Zig Zigglar used to say, “How can you hit a target if you don’t even have one?”

4.       Use a whiteboard.  In conjunction with #3 above, use a small whiteboard to place your goals on.  Why?  So you can have your short term goals right where you can see them until they are completed.

A few years back, I bought a $25,000 house that needed rehabbing and using small whiteboards I was able to knock out every single short term project that needed to be done with efficiency.

Since almost every single wall, ceiling and floor had to be ripped out of that house, as well as a few extra rooms to be built, you can’t imagine what a lifesaver having those whiteboards were.  Especially since nobody believed rehabbing this house was possible.  We completed the entire rehab in about a year and a half.

So, a good strategy is to make a list of all of your chores that culminate in completing your goal and place the white board on a wall where you have to see it often.  Then, as you complete each goal, you can cross off each chore or segment as you get it completed.   You will definitely have an incredible sense of completion as you near your over-all goal.

5.       Never forget the value of a client or a customer. A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to see a documentary on the life of the painter/instructor Bob Ross.  It was a most enlightening 2 hours, to say the least.  Not only was Bob a great painter, able to knock out pieces of art with great flair and pizazz, but he was also an excellent instructor.  But the main thing I’ll remember the most about the documentary were the stories that were told on how he handled his customers and students.

In the early days of his painting instruction business, Bob didn’t get very many students to the art stores he was going to give his classes at.  One time, only one man showed up and Bob’s business partner said, “Hey Bob, why don’t we pack it up.  Only one man showed up, I’m sure he’ll understand.”   That wasn’t good for Bob Ross.

Bob told his partner, “If only one person showed up then we’re going to give him the best lesson he’ll ever get on how to paint.”  And he worked closely with the man until the store was about to close.  That’s the type of care and commitment you have got to show to everyone you meet in your business.

Make Sure You Hit the Road…And Hit It HARD!

As you can see, the path to success on the Internet business model is just like any other business; fraught with all kinds of problems and hassles, just like any other business.  If you are really going to go down this road, then congrats!

I truly wish you all of the success in the world.  But please, bear in mind that you are going to have to pour your guts into this.  I’m not going to sugar-coat this one little bit for you, because that would be doing you a big disservice.

You've got to find your personal niche, create a plan and execute it with everything you've got.

One last success strategy before I sign off…

6.        Read as many success stories as you can.   Read about Bruce Lee, Jack Lalanne, Vince Lombardi, Bill Gates, George Washington and other famous people that made it to the top.  This will give you encouragement and keep you motivated on a daily basis.  God knows, there will be enough people out there that will try to drag you down, to include jealous relatives.

If this article was a blessing to you and helped, please shoot me a comment or an email and let me know what you think.  I’d love to hear about your successes and also help you out by fielding any questions you may have about this subject and others.

God Bless!

To Your Success!

More Dirt Cheap Ways to Get Traffic to Your Website

There are so many ways to market your website that if you were to actually participate in all of these marketing activities you’d probably wouldn't have time to brush your teeth.

My last two blog posts had at least 10 different ways that you could use to market your site for free, or at least dirt cheap.

In my opinion, you should pick the ones that you know how to use the best and run with them.  You don’t want to spread yourself out too thin trying to do everything.  However, if you use a calendar, you can schedule what days you’re going to use these different tools.  That way if you do use quite a few of them or even all of them you won’t burn yourself out.  Cycling through as many free method works, it just takes a bit of planning.

Here is the link to the two previous posts in case you missed them:

Another Batch of Free Tools

Use Google + to Get Maximum Exposure to Your Site – If you haven’t been using Google + you’ve really been missing out.  Just like Facebook and Twitter, Google + has emerged as one of the main players in the social media food chain.

It’s very easy to make friends that have the same interests as you do on Google + because it has different categories called “circles”, that you can put them into.  This way, you can keep people that you are more intimate with in a different category than people that you merely do business with.

Not only that, but you can actually create your own categories to put people into.  For example, I created a category called “Marketing Friends” since I have so many people I communicate on there about business and marketing.

The other tool I like using on Google + is a section called “Communities”.  This is a section wherein you can join up and communicate in online groups that have people interested in the same things you’re interested in.

It’s a great place to post and share thoughts, videos, art, just about anything you can think of!  Like Facebook you’ll have to devote and spend time and effort developing and nurturing relationships, but in the long run it’ll generate traffic and prospects to your site.

Use Twitter to Get Eyes onto Your Website – if you can get involved with a group of people that have similar interests as you on Twitter, you may have an easy and fast way of getting some traffic to your blog.  There are a few things you’ll need to learn about how to use their hashtag system, but once you figure that out, leaving relevant posts are duck soup.

TIP: Here’s an idea that’ll help you get noticed on Twitter.  If you know of a TV
show that you and others are interested in you can use the hashtag to post to people on Twitter that are also interested in the same TV show.  However, the show and Twitter conversation should be relevant to your business.

For example, I write advertising copy.  Therefore any TV shows lie The Apprentice, Shark Tank or Undercover Boss are applicable for me to talk about.  Awhile back, I logged in during Undercover Boss, and used the appropriate hashtags and made good comments.

I got so many people to start following me on Twitter, that I was very surprised. These are basically people that are subscribing to my posts (or as Twitter calls them, “Tweets”) that every time I leave a comment or a link to my blog, they will see them.   This is one of the easiest and simplest ways of getting traffic cheaply to your site.

Set Up and Develop Joint Ventures – Joint ventures can benefit more than one person’s website at a time. It’s what you would call a win-win situation for both partners involved.  For example, you could team up with another person and develop a course, and split the work between you.  Both parties using their sites as a springboard for selling or showcasing the course.  If you were writing a book together, both parties could brand the eBook for both websites.

I’ve seen joint venture books of this nature where different writers contributed their own individual chapter of the document.  Of course, within that chapter they mention their business and website where the readers can get even more information on the subject matter.

The beauty of this is that the idea that multiple experts wrote a chapter is even better than on expert writing the whole book.  Not only that, but each expert reinforces and supports the other with testimonials, which adds more credibility to the eBook.

You don’t just have to make eBooks either.  You can create video courses, guest blog posts etc.  The ideas are limitless!

Leave World-Class Comments on Other People’s Blogs – This is an easy method in theory, but it takes time and expertise to pull off.  It takes time to sit, think and then write for a blog comment.  Not only that, but you must make absolutely sure that you know what you’re talking about.

If you try to come off as an expert and you don’t really know what you’re talking about, people that do know will call you out. So, write excellent blog comments, leave your URL if they’ll let you and for gosh sakes, make sure you know what you’re talking about.

Blow Away the Competition Using This Traffic Generating Method of Giving Away Free Content

One of the biggest words in marketing besides “New” and “Sale” is the word “Free”.  If you read my last post, you’ll know that I’m an advocate of “Paying it Forward”.  It’s one of the best things you can do for yourself and others, and a super easy way of building a loyal group of followers as cheaply as possible.

However, before I give you some great FREE ideas, let me just mention that just because you’re giving away something as cheap as FREE you don’t have to make it cheap.  You still need to make your gift as high quality as possible.

Recently, I heard a podcast by a young guy that mass produces eBooks on Amazon. His business model was to pick a group of pen names, (a different one for each niche he was targeting) have someone ghostwrite eBooks for himself - dirt cheap, and then sell them for $5.00 each because there wasn't any pain for prospects in parting with such a small amount of money.

He claimed he was raking in the dough.  Maybe he was...don’t know.

The problem with this business model, as I see it, is he will always have to rebuild his customer base.  People that buy cheap items that are just thrown together probably won’t be back, and probably aren't successful enough to buy anything that you’ll want to sell them later at a higher price.

That’s just my way of thinking.

Why the Big Boys are Big

The reason why marketing experts like Dan Kennedy can command $300 an info product, or charge $3000 a seat at a seminar is because he DELIVERS super-high quality information, products and services and carries that reputation around with him wherever he goes.  And he’s been doing it for over 30 years.

That kind of clout comes with putting YOUR back into it, rather than hiring a ghost writer to dash out some fast junk. The Dollar Store does well at selling super-cheap stuff because that’s exactly what it is--super-cheap stuff.

You won’t find Dyson vacuum cleaners that will last for 10 years or more there, because that’s not their niche.  (Of course you won’t find me buying a vacuum cleaner there either, no matter how cheap they sell them.)

Now, I know what you’re gonna say.  “Wait a minute Ellis! You’re telling me on one hand to give stuff away for FREE, but then you’re telling me that I don’t want to have a cheap reputation.  What kind of double talk is that?”

They Already Have the Job

People that want to become teachers go through a gauntlet you wouldn't believe.  In order to become a school teacher in the U.S. you have to go through at least 4 years of college, take a whole battery of certification tests, do your student teaching for at least a semester in a regular school, and then make sure you follow the rest of your certification requirements in the state you’re teaching in.

In the state of Kentucky, for example, you have to go through an extra year of a state run program.  That program requires you to be observed and monitored by other teacher’s at your school as well as administrators and state administrators.

By the time you’re done with that program, you’ll have a book full of state forms and lesson plans that’s as thick as a New York City telephone directory.  If you pass all of that, you still have to teach in your subject area for 3 years or take some upper level graduate classes.

Full-fledged teachers don’t make that much money for the first 10 years they’re teaching either.

I remember when I was doing my student teaching in college, there was a professor that was prepping us for that experience.  She really hammered out the fact that she didn't care what the rest of the staff at the cooperative school was dressed like, we had to be dressed to the hilt, very professionally.  She went through the whole laundry list of what women and men were to wear while doing their cooperative teaching.

Some of the students asked why we had to get so decked-out if the rest of the school teachers were dressed more casually.

Her response was quite blunt. “They already have the job.”

So, consider what other professions have to go through just to get started before you start whining, please.

The Reasons to Provide Free Content

  •        Your customers, prospects and fans want it, plain and simple.

  •        You are trying to establish and prove your knowledge and expertise in your niche. Cheapest way to do it.

  •        If done correctly, it could be used to provide an online watering hole for your fans to congregate, comment and exchange ideas on a regular basis.

  •        If you use offline newsletters, online eBooks and other wonderful vehicles, they could be passed around so you’re ideas and reputation could be spread virally.

The Grateful Dead Goes Live

A real good example of this type of FREE activity actually working, is from the famous rock group the Grateful Dead.  From a marketing perspective, they were unique in many ways.  But one thing stands out that they did which nobody else was doing at the time:  they’d let you record their concerts for FREE.

As a matter of fact, there was an area right next to the mixing board, where the best recordings could
be made called “taper sections”.  This is where people recording their live events could make their own recordings of Grateful Dead’s concerts.

Most music moguls would freak out at the revenue lost, but not the Dead.  They went viral before the Internet. People were exchanging recorded tapes, talking about them, and spreading their fame very quickly, and it paid off handsomely.  Hardly anyone hasn't heard of the Grateful Dead.

Google Gets a Jump on Free

Still don’t think high-quality FREE works? Take a good look at Google.  They have great free services that would take pages to list here.  It’s even been rumored that one of their latest ventures is to provide free Internet services to anyone that wants them, but that’s a future goal I’m not sure will happen.

Google, like the Medici banking family of the Renaissance is collecting geniuses; there’s a whole battery of tests you’d have to take to get in their doors.  These people work in an environment that does nothing but give them freedom.

Freedom to think, play around with ideas, and learn more.  People that work for this company don’t want to go home, so they stay and put in many hours.

They are keen on FREE.  If they’re that smart, perhaps we should follow their lead.

To Your Success!

What to Do With Your Facebook Prospects Once They Come To Your Site!

Over the last couple of days I’ve written about how to use a social media site like Facebook to cultivate and nurture relationships with prospects.  Now we’re going to talk about what to do with them once they get to your site.
Unlike direct mail, which has a marketing process that looks like this:
Direct Mail One Step

Using social media to sell your, service, product, or ideas has a marketing process that looks something like this: (Facebook = Your Facebook Business or Fan Page.)

Web Savvy Facebook Marketing

So as you can see there is a distinct difference between the two processes.

The Big Differences

The difference between the two is obvious; the direct mail method is a simple two step system that requires the medium (sales letter) to sell whatever it is you are trying to push.  The Facebook method requires multiple steps is more complex, requires more time and work and is more difficult to track.

The direct mail method is simple, delivered exactly to the person or persons you want to connect with, and is much easier to track.  Let’s face it if you send out 100 direct mail pieces and 4 of them lead to a sale that’s 4%.

However, finding out your rate of success with social media of any kind is going to be a daunting task.  Direct mail does require a lot of work, because you have to have the skill set to write copy that will convert to sales.  That is a lot of work on the front end.

The Hidden Benefits of Using Facebook to Market Your Business

The hidden benefits with the Facebook method are it’s much cheaper, and your message has the ability to hit larger numbers of people over and over again.

You can sell to them, and if they love what you sell them, they will spread your message for you virally.   Not only that, but you can easily stay in touch with people that subscribe to your Facebook page.  That means if they like your business and products, they may buy from you over and over again.

THE REASON I’M TELLING YOU ALL OF THIS IS BECAUSE ONCE PROSPECTS OR FANS OF YOUR FACEBOOK PAGE COME TO YOUR SITE, YOU’LL WANT TO TAKE EVERY MEASURE YOU CAN TO MAKE SURE THEY TAKE THE ACTION YOU WANT!

After you go through all of the necessary steps to get prospects to your site, you’ll want to have the opportunity to eventually sell them. However, don’t get too excited yet!  We still have a trick or two to perform before we unleash our irresistible offer at them…

A Proper Pop-Up That’ll Eventually Convert
One good way you can use to build your list is to use a “Welcome” pop-up.  The Welcome pop-up will drastically increase the number of subscribers to your list.

It has even been reported that one Internet marketer increased his opt-in rate by over 700% in just a few months by doing this.  I can’t confirm this, but I’m sure you’ll have a better opt-in rate using a Welcome pop-up than a static box on your page.
Welcome Pop-up
Bench Prep Uses a Welcome Pop-Up

With the Welcome pop-up, you won’t send them to a sales page yet.  You will want so ease into the sale eventually at a later date.  At this point, you are merely growing your list of humble, yet starving followers. Yes, starving to hear more about your niche, service or product, and it can all be done very cheaply.

Overt - Subliminal Advertising
Here’s an idea that has been around for a while, and yet when we see it, we stuff it into the subliminal backs of our minds. It’s very, very common to see an ad at the top of many popular sites.  Because we have seen these advertising banners so much, we have a tendency to automatically think of it as being a vendor’s banner, rather than a banner of the SITE OWNERS.

So, it would be a good idea to create your own banner as if were someone else’s!  Don’t lie, just advertise your product at the top of your page just like a banner.  Perhaps use different fonts and colors than the ones which are on your blog or website so that it register’s in your visitors mind as “just another ad”.
You can either sell your stuff from the banner or use it as another way to get more people to sign up for your email newsletter.
Web Savvy Banner Advertising
The Warrior Forum Sometimes Advertises It's Own
Products on Its Site Like WSO Special Offers

Another way to have banner advertising is to make them relevant.  In other words, if you are talking about kayaking, you could have a free video on how to put a kayak on top of a car, if you can get the person’s email.  So have a banner or button that your visitors can click on that is related to what you are talking about.

Keep Your Landing Page CLEAN!
One last piece of advice about these strategies, keep your landing pages clean.  Google gets it.  If you look at the search engine objectively, you’ll see just how clean it is.  While all of the other search engines like AOL, Yahoo and Altavista were busy putting more crap on their pages than you could stand, Google went with a very clean and elegant design.

The reason?  The folks at Google wanted to make sure their visitors were focused on one thing: getting nothing but awesome search results.  If you went to Google you had only one option: SEARCH.

Google dominates
It's Easy To See Google is Very Focused on One Function...Searching!

So, when you have a page that’s supposed to make your visitor take a specific action, make sure NOTHING can get in their way.  Keep that page very simple and devoid of distractions.

Web Savvy Methods of Converting Facebook Visitors Into Buyers

In my last post I wrote about how you should know where your Facebook business page fits in your sales funnel.  If you didn’t get a chance to read that post, here’s the link:

The Traditional 3-Step Process

In case you don’t know, I don’t claim to be an expert in all areas of Social Media. I do use it on a daily basis, and over time I have seen results from it.  However, to be totally honest with you, I don’t claim to know some Top-Secret Super Guru Method of using social media to generate thousands of dollars daily.

If you are looking for a good resource like that, you may want to hire this consultant:

So, this is what I've been doing in social media, it is what is called by some marketers as the 3-step process.  Very simply, it looks like this:

Breakdown of the Steps:

Step #1 - Facebook With this step, you are going to update your status in some way.  If you look at the Nature Valley Granola Bar Facebook page, you’ll see that they have all sorts of updates.  They don’t promote their items every day, because when you’re selling all of the time it is “Big-B” BORING!

Nature Valley shows pictures taken by fans of the great outdoors.  Once my wife and I were hiking around Colorado, and Nature Valley was asking people to post pictures of themselves holding their product in the great outdoors.  My wife was only too thrilled to have her picture posted with a granola bar.  Sheesh!

This is a case of Nature Valley promoting AND getting customers to add to their Facebook Fan page.  So they were getting customer involvement and getting their Facebook page updated at the same time!  Double the Fun! (Wait, that’s a gum product!  My bad!)

Step #2 - Your Blog or Website Once you've engaged your prospects, you can now get them to your website or blog, where they can read information that is of importance to THEM.  (You always want to make sure that you’re not writing things that interest you; it’s your audience that counts!)

You need to have links to your coupons, squeeze page, irresistible offer, or whatever else on the page that they are reading.  Don’t overdo it, but place the links where it can be plainly seen and if possible make them a part of your website’s landscape.

You can do this several different ways too!  You can have an advertisement close to your valuable content while at the same time, you can also have an RSS feed next to your content and an opt-in box as well.

What these last two options will do, is allow you to build your marketing list so you can send them a well written offer…eventually.

Step #3 – Conversion…Cha-Ching!  In your final step in the 3-Step Process, you’ll have your sales page work its magic.  In reality, this is the page that’s going to require the most skill to craft, because you’re going to have to use words to sell your service or product.  Not as easy as it looks.  The best way to do this if you have no experience yourself, is to hire someone to craft your compelling copy.

Depending on what you are selling and how much you are charging for your goodies, your message can run from about a page or two, to ten pages!  I just read a sales letter a few days ago, and it was over twenty pages in length!!!

Usually, if you’re selling a high ticket item, you’ll have to use a pretty long sales letter to overcome the load of objections in the mind of a prospect.

I can tell you that if you hire a good copywriter it will run you big bucks.  In some cases they’ll charge you a minimum of $3000 and half of that is up front, non-negotiable and non-refundable.

On the other hand, you can hire a cheap copywriter and have low conversions.  It all depends on how much you really want to make.

Wake Up Dummy! You’re In the Super Bowl Yourself – You Just Don’t Know It!

Without excluding myself, I think most people don’t get what it takes to become a success.  The reason why I’m not excluding myself is because I’m still on the path with the rest of you.  I haven’t
made it to where I want to be in my business, and every day that hippo is riding my back, reminding me that he’s still there.

Before I get started, don’t start sending me email and comments telling me that you have the solution to my problem, because you don’t.   I’m sure that whatever marketing program you’ve created or are affiliated with on Click bank or whatever, has worked well for you.  As a matter of fact, it has worked so well that you have to lurk around social media sites to find easy prey to sell your stuff to.

In short, there is no quick solution to anyone’s problem.

I’m a copywriter and I network with other copywriters all the time.   If I've heard it once, I've heard it a million times from folks that write advertising copy:

“The client thinks I’m the solution to all of their business problems.”

“The person that hired me thought that their product would fly off the shelf once I gave them their copy.”

“I had to get rid of this client because they wouldn't give me any of the information on their business that I requested.”

I actually know someone that hired one of the top copywriters in the country and paid him thousands of dollars to write a direct mail piece.  I was told that out of the thousands of pieces that were sent out there were only two responses, and that didn't even lead to a sale.

Is it the copywriter’s fault?  Perhaps the sales funnel wasn't thought through well enough.  Perhaps the list that was purchased didn’t target the right market segment.  Maybe a smaller mailing list could have been used to test the copy and the target audience.

Point is, if you are having a lack of success in your life, the person to blame is usually in the mirror.

You Are The Guy Or Gal In The Super Bowl…Believe It Or Not!

I’m not a sports fan at all.  As a matter of fact, I’m rather sports illiterate.  I’m the guy that’s always amazed at how well a basketball player can get that puck into the net using only a croquette mallet.  But I do know one thing, if you see a sports legend today that has made it into the big leagues, much less the Super Bowl, I’d say you are looking at someone that has had to make massive sacrifices to get there.

They spent long, hard years honing their craft, pursuing their goals, all the while never knowing if they would make it even close to their goals.

Lucas, Spielberg and the Super Bowl

I’m shifting gears to movies since I seem to know more about them than sports.  However, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg are two great examples of individuals that overcame adversity.  Who wouldn't want to be these guys?  They get to make the coolest movies, hang out with giants in their industry, and spend their days creating cool stuff.

However, things weren't always so rosy.

When Lucas was in his 20’s he made his first mega-hit, “Star Wars”, a movie that literally changed the entire movie industry in more ways than one.  But, what most people don’t know is, that while the younger, skinnier George Lucas was in the process of making his big hit, he had a heart attack.
The enormous pressure he was under by vicious businessmen and investors plus the grueling filming schedule he was under almost killed him.

Spielberg didn't have it much easier.  While filming his first mega-hit, “Jaws”, one of the things he had to look forward to everyday while making the film was extremely rude people that actually bullied him on the set.  Similar to Lucas, Spielberg had to deal with ruthless movie moguls, a crew that was getting into more trouble every day, and a massive mechanical shark named Bruce, that didn't work 70% of the time.

By the way, both of these guys spent years in the industry prior to this making cheap movies or TV shows.  They were accustomed to doing a lot of grunt work and taking massive amounts of crap from people.

And the Point is Sports Fans:

Whenever you see anyone you admire that is bathing in success, just think, “How much crap did they have to do to get there?”

Chances are they went through an awful lot, and that’s why they are on the field moving the ball towards another goal.

To Your Success!
