Get this Awesome Book on Being an Entrepreneur for FREE By Best Selling Author Robert Ringer

A quick post here about an incredible offer by a great author.  Robert Ringer is a
man that went to the school of hard knocks.

He's written several books that have made it to #1 on the New Your Times best seller list.  He usually writes about real life experiences that he has had in business.

The thing that I love about his books the most is the man can write.  Most non-fiction writers have a hard time telling interesting and compelling stories when they talk about being a entrepreneur or business owner.  Ringer tells you stories and points of view that are funny, sad, dramatic and interesting.  He does all that while telling you the cold, hard facts of getting ahead in the business world.

Because he has busted his butt in business and made it to the top, you know that he is at the top of his game.  But better yet, he is telling you EXACTLY how to succeed in this book and he's giving it away for free!

That's right, Robert Ringer is giving his book, "Million Dollar Habits -- 10 Steps for Getting Everything You Want in Life." just for giving him your email.

What I've Already Told You About Success

Over the past several weeks I've been going through all of the different Traffic Generation tactics that you can easily start to use.  If you haven't been reading the easy traffic generating tactics I suggest you click on this link:  Generating Traffic.

But here's the point.

It doesn't matter if you are getting the advice from me, Bill Gates, or Robert Ringer.  The principles and tactics are easy to understand, but it's the EXECUTION and the DISCIPLINE that's hard to do

Sure, Tiger Woods uses a golf club to swing at the little white ball, but it takes bazillions of years of practice, dedication and work to make what he does happen consistently.  Slow and steady wins the race most of the time.

So get Ringer's book.  You'll laugh! You'll cry! But mostly you'll learn something.

Click here to go to the site and get Ringer's great book.

How Web Savvy Marketers Get loads of People to Come to their Sites Using Link

According to most SEO experts the trump card with Google to get your website ranked higher is incoming links.  However, having said that, I must say that getting links is a lot easier said than done.  If you run a popular or even semi-popular website, you’ll probably be inundated with all sorts of requests to trade links with someone.

internet marketing

Usually the email conversation goes something like this:

Them:  I’m the website owner of www.linkpimp.com and I think it would be beneficial if we traded links with each other.  I would really, really, really, be interested in trading links with you.  As soon as I see that you have placed a link to my site from yours, I’ll link back to you, OK?

You:  Oh, goody...Yawn.

Now, if you are new to Internet marketing, the reason you want to get links from other people’s sites is because Google will rank you higher on the search engine results pages (SERPS).  That means when someone types into a search engine “Yellow Yo-Yos” and your site has a bunch of links pointing to your site, you are more than likely going to show up on page 1 of the SERPS.

Just Bear These Web Savvy Rules In Mind

However, there are a couple of rules that go along with this; the main one being that the links have to be relevant.  In other words, if you are selling yellow Yo-Yo's, you don’t want a site that sells financial software linking to your site.  You’d be much better off having Toys-R-Us linking to your site because it’s a toy
web savvy
store.

OK?  So in some way shape or form, you need toy shops, other Yo-Yo sites, novelty stores, etc. linking to you.
Another thing you may want to consider is if the person that wants to trade links with you has a decent, well made site.   Even if it is relevant, you need to make sure that the site that’s asking for a trade is a site WORTHY of you linking back to.

Think about it.  Do you really want to refer people from your site to a crappy one?

Think about this: would you recommend a lousy restaurant that serves up bad food just because they put your name in a newsletter they were handing out?  Of course not!  Your friends or clients would go there, try to eat whatever garbage was being sold, vomit, and then look for every occasion to badmouth you and your business.

If you’re going to take your Internet business very serious, you’re not going to your site’s visitors, poorly run websites or businesses.  As I said in a previous post, you’ll want to be a good solid resource site for other people to look to in a pinch.

So, if you want to move up in the Search Engines, you need to:
  • 1        Build a site that’s worth something.  Make it a site that people will want to link to because it is a great site for information, inspiration, and resources.
  • 2      Make sure that if you link to other people’s sites that they are outstanding also.

If you have a good site, one that you work on every day and add outstanding content to you’ll be a site that people will link to automatically to.

In my next post, I’ll cover how to properly approach other people to relevant links which will move you up the SERPS and get you ORGANIC (meaning the search engine gods are going to favor you and move you up the results pages…FOR FREE) rankings in the search engines.

A Great Article on Obtaining Links

Hey, if you want to read an excellent post on the subject of linking, you really need to read this article from the people over at SEObook called:   How to Build Links Fast!

Get More Internet Traffic to Your Site by Using This One Simple Marketing Strategy

Most of the traffic generating ideas you read about on this blog look real easy.  One of the reasons for this is because I’m an actual, certified teacher. I’ve taught almost 30 different subjects in the last 20 years, and I believe in giving you concise information and instructions, rather than giving you a lot of “fluff”.

So, whenever I actually get around to putting down the exact steps to help you generate traffic to your site or blog, it is usually to the point.

A Bad Illusion

However, the problem with this is that gives you the illusion that doing the task is easy.  In Internet marketing NOTHING IS EASY.
I once saw a YouTube video where in the famous copywriter Gary Halbert talked extensively about marketing on the Internet.  One of the things he talked about was how much harder it was to sell things by way of the Internet than it was by direct mail.  One of the reasons he felt this way was because there are way too many distractions on here.

I’ve posted a video here where the late Mr. Halbert talks about Search Engines:

My Master’s degree is in Education Technology and for years I’ve observed how long it can take a student to find good, solid information using the Internet.  If you go to the library looking for a book on Renaissance art, chances are that if you know how to use a card catalog system it’ll take you 5 minutes to find an entire section of books on that subject.

But on the Internet, there are too many things competing for your attention.  There’s email, texting, gaming, advertisements, favorite sites and of course the biggest distraction…Social media.  And even if you happen to stay on task, finding a good site (despite how good Google’s algorithm is) can sometimes be very difficult.

If you don’t know how to look for something it can be quite difficult.

So, without going into great detail on situations where I had to help students find specific information I’ve learned one important thing.   If it’s difficult to find and sift through and find information on common subjects on the Internet, how much harder is it going to be to find your business on here?

Here’s The “One Easy Trick” I Told You About

The trick is simple in principle, but requires WORK.  As Edison so aptly put it,
“The only place you’ll find SUCCESS before WORK is in the dictionary.”

Here is the strategy: Becoming an authority or having an authority site.

There are several paths to becoming an authority, but the most popular way to become one on the Internet is by using a blog and regularly posting outstanding information on it.  Now, that’s a very simplified strategy or idea, but it’s true and it works.

However, the steps to becoming an authority or authority site require a lot of work.  Here are just a few of the things that you need to do to become an authority in your chosen niche.  (You do have a niche, don’t you?)

1.        Publish really great information about your niche on your site or blog.
2.        Make sure you link out to other valuable links in your niche that are relevant to what you are writing about.
3.       Post good quality info everyday on your blog or website
4.       Post short snippets about your updates to all social media sites you are associated with letting people know that you posted.
5.       Guest write in forums, other people’s blogs and anyone else that’ll let you as much as you can.
Make sure that you post your website links are on those posts.

That was the short and sweet answer.  You can accelerate this whole process by doing some offline marketing too:
1.        Do public speaking and give out your site address and email addresses
2.       Put your website address on every direct mail piece that you send out
3.       Make sure your email address has your website address on it.
4.       Write a book on Amazon and tell people there are bonuses on your site and place your site’s address in the book. (Side note – writing a published book will quickly make you an authority.)

web savvy Internet marketer
Here’s A Strategy On How To Become An Authority On The Internet In A Year

I’m sure that you’ve seen these strategies before.  However, it doesn’t hurt to reiterate them and remind you of what you have to do to move your Internet business forward.  In order to get your site really noticed, I’m including a link to a document that will really get you moving if you do most of what’s in it.

Years ago an IM superstar named Brett Tabke wrote a post o n a forum that later became a rather famous E-book on IM called “The 26 Steps” Here is a FREE copy of that document.  If you are even remotely serious about Internet marketing, then you’ll read this excellent document and begin to use the steps he so graciously shared with everyone.

One other resource I’ve already mentioned in another post is Bob Bly’s most excellent book, “How to Become an Authority in 90 Days or Less” And the link is to the post where you can get it.

Try This Web Savvy Internet Traffic Generation Method To Grab Readers And Prospects!

Another relatively free system of getting people to your site is by getting others to spread the word for you and give you "Virus Status".

The tools of choice  for getting this done are what are known as “Share Tools” (A.K.A. - Tell a Friend Buttons, Share Buttons, etc.) ( These are basically buttons that are placed at key places on your website or blog that allow your readers to share your postings and articles with their friends.

The most popular of these are at these sites:

I’m sure you've seen these things because they are everywhere.  The places I see them most are on job sites like Monster or Indeed.  You click on the page that has a job listing and you can immediately email a friend and let them know about the job you see posted.

Well, you can do the same thing on your site.  If you have a posting, video clip, contest, opt-in box to get a freebie or anything else, you can easily place one of these buttons next to them and people that come to your site ca share the feature you have with their friends.

Here is a real good video that talks about using "Share Buttons"

Not only that, but when someone refers their friend and THEY like what you have, THEY will refer THEIR friends to your site.  Thus your site online will have “Viral Status”.

See how simple it all is?  However, this is just another reason why you should not be producing a lot of CRAP on your site or blog.  If your content is pretty good, chances are you will be slowly but surely moving toward that authority status that all IMer’s lust and pine after.

Implementing the “Share Tools”

Setting up these buttons is pretty easy.  The sites that carry them usually have a small bit of code on them that you can easily copy and paste into your web page.
Usually the code looks something like this:

I know that Blogger has a push button system called “Gadgets” that make it so easy to launch tools like this.  As a matter of fact, there is a gadget called Java and HTML coder that makes it so easy to add stuff like this to your sidebar.   All you have to do is add the code you find to the Gadget box and it will display it as soon as you hit “save” and exit the template.

The Downside of Using These Tools

For just about everything you do in this universe, there is always either detractors telling you why something won’t work, or there is an aspect of it that just doesn’t work.

Many of the people that are in the Internet marketing arena will tell you that if your content is really good, then the person that read your content will probably copy the link and paste it into an email or browser window.  If they are too lazy to do that, then chances are they probably didn’t care THAT MUCH for your content anyway.

However, many marketers will tell you that removing any barrier to completing an action is a good thing.  So, you’ll just have to decide whether or not you want to use this tool.

To Your Success

Get Web Savvy ̶ Get Loads of Internet Traffic With This Ordinary Keyword Tactic!

Update On Yesterday’s Rant:

Yesterday I kinda – sorta started off on a negative rant about how some folks
are always expecting a new unheard of method of traffic generation.  I even went so far as to post a picture of a disgruntled George Costanza next to my irate writings in an effort to drive my point across.

Sorry about that.

An unfortunate side-effect of socializing on the Internet is we don’t actually don’t actually see and face the people we are talking to.  Therefore, the real JERK comes out of the person, sometimes like a demon possessed Linda Blair.

I’m not referring about my rant, or myself in this case.  The only reason I’m saying I’m sorry is because I’m a nice guy overall, I just didn’t want anyone to think I was trying to be rude.  Nope, I’m talking about people I bump into quite frequently on the Net.

At least once a month, I get some foul mouthed idiot that thinks he’s the next Frank Kern with an attitude, throwing all sorts of nasty language on my comment section.  These people think they’re original, but they are not because their ilk is everywhere.

My way of thinking is: if you’ve heard this all before, then why are you wasting your time on my site?  If you’re making loads of cash on the Internet, then why, oh why, are you wasting your time commenting on a blog you think is worthless?

Side Note: If you want a real quick lesson in how insane and insensitive people can be on the Internet, just head on over to YouTube.   You can watch a few videos of the way people behave in a virtual world like Second Life.   (Just type in “Fight on Second Life” into the YouTube search field.  Warning: don’t have children in the room when you watch these.)

Just to Drive My Point Across…Again!

Yesterday I watched an excellent YouTube video called “Seven Strategies for Building an Email List” which had excellent production value. The speakers were articulate, knew exactly what they were talking about and made their entire living doing Internet marketing.

However, there wasn’t anything new or earthshattering about the information they were putting out.  It was all basic stuff that was talked about in a very intelligent manner. I don’t care how many times I’ve studied these tactics, I loved the clip and I HIGHLY recommend it.  As a matter of fact I’m embedding it here:

Focus On Creating Great Content

This is one of those traffic generating methods that most people seem to skip.  The problem with most people that write blogs is that they get burned out after a while.  On average, people that start blogging quit after only a few weeks.  Almost 70% won’t make it to 6 months and only a handful will make it to several years of blogging.

So, if you don’t love writing and creating valuable content, then this method of traffic generation is probably not for you.

However, if you do like to write and can do it without having to see any benefit for an indefinite period of time, then this is the way you should go.  Bear in mind that nobody on the planet can tell you exactly how long it’s going to take before you get noticed or the Search Engine Gods will grant you their Page One blessings.  This is one of those things that just takes time.

Kill Two or Three Birds with One Stone to Get More Traffic Traction

If you write good, solid, sequenced content you can get more traction from your posts.  I would suggest writing sequenced material like a book.  You can plan out your blog posts like a table of contents for a book.  Then, once you have a butt-load of material, add a little more to it and turn it into an information product or an E-Book.

You can then brand the E-Book with your Web address, contact information or place your irresistible offer in it and either start selling it or give it away.  This way you’ll have another traffic generating tool that’ll be out there in cyberspace working for you and getting your message out there.

If you write a lot of great content, quite a few people will take notice of you and begin linking and referring people to your site.

To Your Success!

An Internet Traffic Generation Method That Any Web Savvy Marketer Can Do!

If you've been reading this blog over the last several weeks, you’ll probably notice that I've been writing about specific ways that you can drive traffic to your website or blog.

Here is a list of Internet Traffic Driving Methods I have covered so far.  Clicking the links will take you to the specific pages:

Now I’m sure that there are all sorts of web savvy Internet marketers out there that will read this stuff and say, “Hey, there’s nothing really new here!  I
already know this junk.  Who does he think he is throwing this old information around?”

Well, let me tell ya something pal, there really isn't anything new under the sun.  Give me any Internet marketing technique or strategy that YOU have under your belt, and I bet that I've already heard it.  This is why it cracks me up when I see some IM guru acting like they've got some new-fangled technique or course that is SECRET.  Bull-KaKa!

Granted, there are loads of newbies jumping on the IM bandwagon willing to try their hands at making money online that have never heard this stuff.  But for the person that has been actually doing IM for a while you've probably already seen these.

The reason most of you haven’t been successful is because the execution and duration of your efforts has been lacking.  That and the fact that you may have been doing a half-a** job at it.

My way of thinking is that it’s always good to review or read up on these techniques.  Sometimes there is a new or different spin that I missed, but it has been my experience that most IM methods are the same and easily accessible provided you can find them on the Web.

So, having said all of that, here’s the next Internet traffic generating method…

Make a Free Offer on Online Classifieds

This method is pretty straightforward, and isn't complicated at all.  All it involves is the ability to write a short ad, asking a prospect to take some sort of action in order to get a freebie from you.

The action you want is to get the person to give you their email or contact information. The reason you want the email is so you can build your list; the most valuable asset and powerful marketing weapon in your arsenal.

But I digress…

The most popular online website that is most like a classified ad in the newspaper is Craigslist.  However, you have to pay for an ad in Craigslist, just as if you would have to pay for an ad in your newspaper.  However, the response you can get if you do a good job of writing an ad can be terrific.

If you go this route, make sure that your offer is real good.  If you can offer more than one free thing for going to your site and signing up, the more irresistible your offer will be to the reader.
There are also several online free classifieds online, many of them run only ads that are specific to the area where you live.

Here is a listing of a few of them:

Craigslist  ̶  The mega-online classified ads site that has the largest reach.
eBay Classifieds  ̶  eBay’s classified site has a rather large audience and you can place an ad there for free too!
Classifieds Giant – One of the big dogs in classified marketing on the Net.
Free Classified Ads– These are free ads that are   to advertise to people where you live.
Oodle  ̶  This is kind of unique.  It takes listings from other sites and combines them with their own.
Back Page  ̶   Offers free classified ads and can be placed locally or nationally.
Classified Ads With aClick  ̶   This site offers free online listings as well.
OLX.com  ̶  Another free classified page.
TNOL.com  Free online local listings.
Recycler is a buy, sell and trade local listing.

When you combine some of these in your marketing efforts, you may get a trickle of traffic from them, but if you keep following this blog and start applying all of the traffic generating strategies together, that trickle may turn into a flood of prospects that are hungry for your irresistible offer.

To your continued success!

Is Your Reputation Killing Your Traffic Generation AND Business?

I say dangerous things sometimes.  Well, here goes…

Most people that are in business (especially Internet marketers) are missing this.  This is probably the easiest way to drive traffic to your business either online or off.  However, in my humble opinion it is the LEAST used method that I have seen.  I’m not saying that you’ll get massive traffic from this overnight, because this is kind of like branding your product or service.  It takes time, cultivating relationships and building a list of customers or clients.

Let me explain…

Your Reputation Is Paramount

If you think for one second that people are going to buy a product or service from you, and not form an opinion of you one way or another, you’re kidding yourself.  Recently, I was thinking of purchasing an online product from a company I had heard of for years.

A lot of big time marketing gurus were touting it as one of the best courses that had ever been made.

I decided to look around the Internet to see if anyone had formed an opinion of it one way or the other.  What I found was rather shocking.  As a matter of fact, it has changed the way I’ll view almost ANY product online from now on.

If You Suck On The Internet Everyone Will Know It

This business and product, which has been touted as an industry standard by well-known practitioners in the field, was one of the most hated on the Internet.  As a matter of fact, so many people complained in one forum alone, I can’t imagine why anyone would want to do business with them.  The rants ran on for pages and pages.

Suddenly, I felt like I had been taken.   Even though I had not actually bought the product, I felt as though the gurus I had believed in for so long, were out making paid endorsements for one and other.

As I said before, many experts were praising this product. I thought, “Wow!  I've been buying products from these “experts” for years. Could it be that I’m just an easy mark?  P.T. Barnum could quickly validate his most favorite phrase by watching the likes of me.”

I have to say, the people that were selling the service, were great at selling their product, because it had gained so much traction over the years.  However, the goods were tainted.  Very, very tainted.  And unfortunately, many people felt like they had been ripped off.

The Info-Product Model of Stupidity

If I were at an expensive seminar, some toothy-grinning guru would probably tell me that I’m being negative.  However, reality is reality.  If something sucks and there are a whole bunch of very intelligent people spilling their guts, then what does it say for that product or service?

Buy hey, this is the way info marketing is done over the Internet.  Build up all of this hype, brag endlessly about your BIG PRODUCT LAUNCH, talk about false scarcity, tell everyone that this is a one-time offer when it actually isn’t, and then sell them crap.

Once you are in their pipeline, you’ll be “invited” to their seminar at $2,500 a shot.  You better hurry too!  The last one was sold out!  Of course, they deliberately picked a smaller conference room where they could have the scarcity principle work for them.  They could honestly say, “…we only have “x” number of seats at this event, so you better hurry and fork over the bucks.”
Then they give this impressive list of speakers that have all written books, so therefore are an authority on the subject.

(This is the reason why I’m a firm believer in going on Amazon and buying their books…USED.  Not only that, but if you are an info-vulture like me, you’ll eventually find some of these products on eBay for a lark rather than the $500 + they’ll charge you for an uncomfortable chair at a seminar.  (Any chair outside of my recliner is uncomfortable, especially when I’m reading a good book.))

I’m serious, though.  If Joe or Josephine Blow is giving an expensive seminar,
why don’t you try to find their book on Amazon?  I doubt that whatever they’ll tell you at the expensive seminar will be any different than what they wrote IN GREAT DETAIL in their book.  Plus, you’ll have access to their expertise any time you want.

Now, these are people that’ll tell you to track everything you do.  Track your sales, track your direct mail campaign, track your Internet traffic, track how many times a day you take a crap…You know the drill.  Well, I have never heard or seen any proof of their attendee’s rate of success.  In other words, how many people made “X” number of dollars after going to one of their seminars?
I have never seen those stats.   They’ll tell you they have no way of tracking that.

Isn't that convenient?

It’s kinda like the government telling you it knows every dime you make, so you better pay every cent you owe in taxes, but has no recollection of the fact they had spent 20 bazillion dollars covertly invading Kazakhstan.   Very, very convenient.

This is Where You Can be Different.

Now listen, I’m not saying that everyone that sells info products is like this is a charlatan, snake oil salesman.  There are some really good info marketers out there that sell well made products.  I’m sure there are some really great seminars too.  I am also positive that you can learn something from some of these resources that will benefit you and your business.
However, if you are going to charge top dollar for your product or service, then you better deliver

Actually, you better OVER-DELIVER!

And, if you can dredge it up, some honest caring about the people you are marketing to, wouldn't hurt either. Because, so few businesses actually care about their fellow human.  They look at around and all they see are dollar signs, and it eventually will be seen as that by the people they do business with.

However, if you actually care about the people you sell to and service and go the extra mile for them, they will never forget you.  At the very least, you’ll have someone that appreciates you and what you've done for them.

I just had to get some of this off my chest.
